Give: 24 | Save the Date, 3-24-25
Give:24 is just around the corner, set for Monday, March 24. Be sure to join the University鈥檚 one-day digital fundraiser. You are invited to participate for 24 hours by giving $24 and sharing the campaign with 24 friends. This year, Jessup students are stepping up to make a difference, championing the causes they care about most.
What makes Give:24 truly remarkable? The power of matching and challenge gifts that amplify every donation. As key milestones are achieved, these matches and challenges will be unlocked, multiplying the impact of your generosity.
You might be wondering about this year鈥檚 ambitious goal. With your help, we aim to rally 500 donors to raise $150,000. Reaching this target means unlocking every match and challenge while fully funding essential projects, programs and scholarships.
This year鈥檚 student ambassadors chairing the campaign are Peter Constant Jr. and Daysha Trujillo. On March 24, they will provide updates and share details about the eight student-led initiatives: Athletics, the Jessup Fund scholarships, Jessup Music, Pathways to Success, Precision Health, Student Government Project, Veterans Mental Wellness and the West Coast Pastoral Conferences initiative.
The Jessup Fund
Senior Alexandria Mihalyi leads the Jessup Fund initiative. Jessup has played a transformative role in Mihalyi鈥檚 life, equipping her with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in post-graduate studies and beyond. The Jessup Fund supports the University鈥檚 mission by providing students with resources for Christian higher education, academic excellence and spiritual development.
Precision Health
Sophomore Michael Huddleston is championing the Precision Health Initiative, which raises funds for essential equipment to support Dr. Eddie Romo鈥檚 groundbreaking Alzheimer鈥檚 research. 鈥淪cience has been my passion since I was four years old,鈥 Huddleston said. 鈥淗elping Dr. Romo research a potential blood-borne biomarker for early Alzheimer鈥檚 detection is something I never thought I鈥檇 get to do as an undergrad, but Jessup made it possible.鈥 Supporting this project helps equip future medical innovators.
Jessup Music
Senior Tara Harness knows firsthand the impact of Jessup Music. This year, Jessup Music will take the University Choir & Orchestra to Europe, recording at Abbey Road Studios and touring throughout England, Belgium and France. Gifts to this initiative help prepare future musicians with an ethical foundation to lead and inspire through music. 鈥淚 can鈥檛 wait to see what God has in store for all of us,鈥 Harness said. 鈥淭his experience allows us to expand Jessup鈥檚 presence internationally.鈥
Pathways to Success
鈥淗elping students succeed is at the heart of Jessup,鈥 project leader Lana Noah said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about being part of a community that supports and believes in you every step of the way. As a Jessup student and single mom, I鈥檝e been blessed to experience this.鈥 Noah received a Give:24 scholarship last year and is passionate about this initiative that supports first-generation college students, foster youth and single parents.
Student Government PROJECT
As a resident assistant, Joshua Devlin encourages students to build community outside their dorm rooms. 鈥淵ou can鈥檛 do life together separated by dorm room walls,鈥 he said. 鈥淭his year, our student government chose to focus on upgrading the common areas in our living spaces. The goal is to create comfortable spaces that are inviting and full of opportunities to connect with each other and with Jesus.鈥
Veterans Mental Wellness
Bill Roe is rallying support for an ocean therapy program for student veterans. Funds raised during Give:24 last year enabled Roe to attend the Jimmy Miller Memorial Foundation鈥檚 ocean therapy weekend in Southern California. 鈥淭he experience was unforgettable 鈥 an 11 out of 10, for sure,鈥 Roe said. Gifts to this initiative provide our veterans with the resources they need to cope with the trauma they鈥檝e experienced during their time in service to our country.
West coast Pastoral Conferences
This fall, Jessup plans to host two conferences 鈥 one for churches in Northern California, the other for those in Northern Oregon. 鈥淕ifts to this initiative provide the School of Theology and Leadership with resources to support both current and future pastors,鈥 said Gabe Martinez who is overseeing the initiative. Jessup is committed to supporting the church and equipping students who are stepping into leadership roles.
Athletics
Julia Pisenti and Nicholas Schultz are teaming up to represent Jessup Athletics. This year marks Jessup鈥檚 second season of athletic competition in the NCAA Division II Conference. Gifts to the Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund 鈥 or to a team of your choice 鈥 help empower athletes to succeed both on and off the field.
